New Orleanians are united in our displeasure with plans of the Audubon Institute and the Carrollton Boosters to remove the wide green space, trees, art pavilion, and playground on "The Fly" adjacent to the Mississippi River and to replace it with a fenced sports complex and additional parking. This precious and unique green space, overlooking the river, is widely and peacefully used by people of all ages and ethnicities and should be allowed to remain a natural green space, an urban oasis, appropriate for family activities and individual relaxation.
