Firstly a massive thank you to over 3000+ people who have now signed the petition. 

This is brilliant and we need people to continue to sign and still ride the Ferry. 

COUNCIL UPDATE

On Friday 24th October an article was published in the Blackpool Gazette which seemed somewhat confusing - in short Wyre Council is happy to continue funding for the Ferry service however the broader authority LCC - Lancashire County Council hasn't made contact with Wyre despite repeated attempts to engage with the negotiation process. This is deeply concerning however I hope that communication between both authority's is restored.

LORRAINE BEAVERS MP UPDATE

Outside of this I personally have been emailing our local Member of Parliament for Blackpool North and Fleetwood Lorraine Beavers. Albeit a slow response I was grateful that she has acknowledge my first email - she responded on Monday 20th October. In this she said that she was waiting for a response from both councils. However I sent a respond on Friday 24th October pressing her to speak with the Secretary of State for Transport Heidi Alexander MP and to see what alternatives are available should Wyre and LCC fail to continue the service.  An email stated was to see if it could qualify to be part of the £1billion set aside for Bus services along with other transport infrastructure.  I hope that Lorraine Beavers  understands what I have asked and is  doing everything she can to fight for this service. And perhaps be the bridge to get both councils talking. The people of Fleetwood expect nothing less from their elected representative.
