The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) National Council of EPA Locals #238 is sponsoring the “Save the Environment – Save the EPA” campaign because it believes, as do the employees represented by AFGE Council 238, that the U.S. EPA’s mission, To Protect Human Health and the Environment, is a worthy goal for the common good. 

This campaign is being coordinated and conducted by the AFGE Council 238 to bring the message to the American public that given the proposed and enacted budget cuts, the U.S. EPA as we know it today will be rendered ineffective.

AFGE Council 238 also wants to ensure that sound science is the basis for decisions about environmental protection.  AFGE Council 238 also wants to ensure that the U.S. EPA continues to be able to protect the environment so future generations of Americans do not inherit a polluted country and planet that threatens their health and survival.
