Yesterday, Wednesday, March 27, 2024!
So much gratitude for the passionate group of people who joined at Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago to educate the public on the escalating number of killings at Chicago ACC!!
We stood in front of the Picasso statue, across from city Hall holding our signs and chanting our slogans. We passed out cards that our team had made, highlighting the crisis at CACC, calling on the Mayor to hire a new director who would care about the animals, have a can do attitude and be passionate about saving lives. We called for a No Kill Chicago.
We engaged passersby on their lunch hour and they told us they had no idea animals were dying, they assumed that the animals there were all adopted.
This is only our first of many and we invite those of you who live in Chicago and suburbs, even in cities like Joliet, Rockford, Peoria and Kankakee to join us next time. We had people come yesterday from Wisconsin and we need more of you from Indiana and Iowa.
We are the voice for these souls who have no voice of their own. How can we sit by and watch those who are hired to protect them torture and kill them? They throw their hands in the air and say, “But what else can we do? We had twenty dogs come in yesterday and no cages to place them in,” so they are forced to kill them? Yes, they have no other choice, they say, and we say NO to killing! There is so much more they could be doing and not doing.
