Save the City Park Pelican Greenhouse Plant Sales!

Save the City Park Pelican Greenhouse Plant Sales!
The Issue
Update: City Park has responded with their commitment to keep the Pelican Greenhouse public sales going. They will follow through on this thanks to everyone who signed, commented, emailed, and called. This show of support has been amazing. As gardeners, together, we nipped this in the bud.
City Park leadership is cancelling the Pelican Greenhouse plant sales. The last public sale will be at the New Orleans Botanical Garden Fall Garden Show on October 5th and 6th.
For well over a decade, the Pelican Greenhouse in City Park has been integral to the gardening community of New Orleans. Its beloved public plant sales have become an essential resource for local gardeners, offering a unique selection of native plants, antique garden roses, gingers, and rare species that can't be found elsewhere locally. It is also a valuable source of income for the park. A dedicated team of volunteers propagate many of these plants and also offer expertise horticultural knowledge during the plant sales. The loss of the Pelican Greenhouse sales would be a huge disservice to those who have come to rely on these sales for local beautification and ecosystem restoration. Please sign our petition to urge City Park keep the plant sales as a continued community resource.
