You will have seen that Ibrahim, Amina and their children have been granted visas thanks to the support of so many good people. Now let's have one final push to ensure that his parents visas are also granted - that they haven't is due only to beaurocratic bungles and they will be at additoinal risk from the Taliban now that Ibrahim has been given safe haven.

So please keep signing and sharing OR below is a copy of an email that you might like to send to Dan Tehan (dan.tehan.mp@aph.gov.au) or modify and send to Tony Burke (tony.burke.mp@aph.gov.au)

Let's get this family reunited and safely in our country NOW,

Thank you, Vicky, Ali and ABRAR

Dear Dan,

We have the most wonderful news to share.
Thanks to your interventions, Ibrahim, his wife and 2 children have received visas.
This is wonderful, wonderful news. Apollo Bay will go wild!
There is just one huge problem - his parents have not received visas.
In order to keep this little family together, and welcome them all to Apollo Bay, can you please help us just a little more?
I know we've taken up a lot of your time recently, so Ibrahim is here using dot points to explain :

My parents were on our original visa application.
We all came to Pakistan in March to organise medicals and biometrics.
We attended the clinic in May and underwent the tests as specified by BVMS.
My mother was not given a sputum test at that time
There followed lengthy delays (3 months) during which it seemed all our results were lost.
Finally in August the results were found. We 5 were all clear except I was told my mother had to undergo sputum tests because she was not tested properly in May.  This was an oversight by DHA/BVMS.
She completed the tests as specified.
My mother was so worried this might delay our visa processing that she asked to be removed from the application to save the grandchildren. This was done.
Then last week I received another letter from BVMS asking her to undergo sputum tests (same letter as the one received in August, so it seems there was confusion. But of course we agreed.)

Now we 4 have received visas. But my parents are in limbo - we should have left them on the application, but it’s so hard to know what to do, and my mother just wanted to protect the children.
Please can you help keep the family together and allocate visas to my parents?
They cannot remain in Pakistan.
If they return to Afghanistan, the Taliban will definitely harm them (my father is on a Death List)
If they are in Afghanistan the Taliban will be able to get to me through threatening them. This happens frequently.

Dear Dan, we are so sorry to ask for more, but this situation has arisen because of oversights and mistakes by DHA. The consequences are terrible.
Please, can you help us to sort this out?

Thank you so much,
