Save the Coco Beach cows!

On May 4, at 9 am, the Coco Police detained 9 cows touristing on the beach without giving the owner a chance to pick them up.

The owner, who responsibly wanted to explain that it was for criminal reasons that someone opened the corral for them, to date has not been able to remove the cows that are now in Senasa in Liberia awaiting justice.

In a town like Playas del Coco where, although it is true, it could be dangerous for a cow to cause harm to a passerby, where every day you see the cows of people who are not punished; We would believe that since there was no damage, the officers who guard our security could create the incident in their log, explaining that they found the cows and decided to bring them to the delegation and put them where they have the horses, and make the proper report to Senasa in case of The owner did not appear, (who was there at all times), so that SENASA would make the decisions on the case as the health police, which are in regards to animals.

However, this is what happened:

When the owner arrived, he begged them to be deposited with him so that he could take them to his house and Senasa would go there to sanction him or take appropriate action.

In his place, Officer Alfredo Hernández Chaves in an arrogant, mocking, and impertinent manner and even seemed to go against the opinion of his colleagues, undertook the task of mistreating and abusing his power, wasting the time of his colleagues, the owners, the Adicoco and Senasa staff.

The cows were waiting for more than 6 hours both in the delegation and in Adicoco. They were transferred by a large army of 9 police officers (one for each cow) plus the Senasa veterinarian and driver. At Adicoco after said parade, they proceeded to beat them and hide them to get them on the truck, including one that was about to give birth who was the one they hit the most.

The owners, a humble family and a native of Coco have had to hire the legal services of a lawyer since according to the legislation, SENASA for being health police, the measures that can be imposed on cows "found on public roads" is that they are donated or sacrificed even immediately.

Currently, the state's time and money continue to be wasted by filing a Revocation Appeal with a subsidy appeal that is being resolved by the legal department of Senasa and could go as far as the Court of Sanctioning Administrative Procedure.

Judge for yourself and if you consider these acts unfair, irrational, and inhuman, please sign the petition so that the dangerous gang of Coco cows victoriously captured by the Coco Police are not donated to third parties or slaughtered, but delivered to their owners who live off their livelihood that the cows bring them.
