Save The Bay Horse! Say No To Craft!

Save The Bay Horse! Say No To Craft!
The Issue
The Bay Horse has had its lease refused to be renewed by Stonegate and is destined for Craft Union.
The Premises has been an inn since the late 1500’s and featured in local historical magazines about The History of York Pubs. It’s always stood proudly on Blossom Street just outside the City Centre and has been at the heart of the Micklegate Area Community, the Racing Community and Wider for the people of York and Tourists.
It’s small. It’s Quaint. It’s Tudor. It’s dare I say, Independently run..
It has an excellent pub quiz on a Thursday, 4 cosy Letting rooms and a Beer Garden with lovely potted plants. We also do delicious home cooked foods- we brought the Teesside Parmo to York and we fed our local community during lock down with cheap Meal Deals for families. I employ a small number of local people and I pay my taxes in the UK.
We proudly host and support the Railway Institute Rugby Teams, The York Pride Community and Committee and other local Community groups regularly. We pride ourselves on just being- us.
Our customers demographic do not care for cheap beer and live sports open until all hours- because in fact, if they did, there’s another Craft Pub within a 5 min walk with all them shiny offerings. They care about quality products, tasty homemade food and a proper welcome that proper independent pubs bring.
I stopped this pub from consistent closure as its history had dictated, but I have no wish or want to see that happen ever again. I’m being pushed out by the big boys. Yet again, a British publican is trying to be be bullied out of their homes, business and community for our pubs to be put into the hands of corporates with their ‘operator’ style agreements. Such agreements conveniently avoid PubCos paying their managers a Wage and accessing Employee Rights. PubsCos. standardise pubs and make them just like all the rest of them- Generic and Corporate.
So please sign and help me in my mission to Save The Bay Horse from the PubCos clutches and Craft Union. Long has it avoided the sticky web of the PubCos and now, perhaps as testament to my success, I plead, please help the Bay Horse not become another victim to Craft. There’s nothing wrong with the Bay Horse as it is; don’t change what doesn’t need to be fixed.
