This is amazing, we are drawing supporters from all across the globe (British Columbia - St.John's, USA, Australia, & India to name a few). I have even heard that attention was brought to this issue on VOCM "Nightline". I truly am appreciative of the personal stories, and your comments as to why this issue is important to you (I am certain Gerard and Cora will appreciate it too). Thank you everyone for standing together, and demonstrating your support on this injustice. As of this time (and to my knowledge), there has been no action on behalf of the Town of Kippens, NL to rescind any of the Stop Work or Removal orders. The Farm Practice Protection Act outlines that a person shall not be prevented by injunction or other order of a court from carrying on a farm operation. because it causes or creates an odour, noise, vibration, dust, light, smoke or other disturbance. I would also like to bring to your attention that on November 9, 2016, the Government of Newfoundland Labrador released The Way Forward: A vision for sustainability and growth in Newfoundland and Labrador based on input received from stakeholders and residents. The Way Forward is designed to achieve four objectives: a more efficient public sector, a stronger economic foundation, better services, and better outcomes to promote a healthy and prosperous province. The strategy highlighted the need for greater food security in the province by increasing food self-sufficiency by at least 20% by 2022. Needless to say, this is not only an issue for the Aucoin family - this could lead to further impacts to ALL families in Newfoundland Labrador. It is much appreciated if you can continue to aid awareness of this injustice by sharing. Together we can make a difference and influence decision makers.
