Seeking to reverse Councillors' shocking decision - 9am on 23 September

Earlier this month, our City Councillors decided not to consult the community on changes to improve the governance of our public Art Gallery, and brought the entire review process to an abrupt halt.
The decision came as a complete surprise, as Councillors had previously said the governance review would include “robust and thorough” community consultation.
In an effort to reverse this shocking decision made by Councillors, I am making a presentation to Council shortly after 9am this Monday 23 September.
I will challenge the basis on which our Councillors reached their decision. The evidence they relied on, and the reasons given for halting the review, were fundamentally flawed.
I will ask Councillors to reverse their decision, and to give members of our arts community the opportunity to engage with Council, as part of a properly conducted consultation and review process.
A maximum of 10 minutes has been allocated, including time to address any questions Councillors may raise.
If you are in Palmerston North on Monday morning, then please feel welcome to come and show your support, by taking a seat in the public gallery.
The Council Chamber is on the 1st floor of the Civic Administration Building, 32 The Square, Palmerston North. When you walk in from the street, take the stairs or elevator immediately to the right of the front doors. Once upstairs, the Council Chamber is on the left.
Councillors will discuss the matter later that day, and I will send out a further update once they release their final decision.
