We often recommend the Arb as a great part of Ann Arbor.

During recent Nature Rx symposium, the benefits of being in nature were described as essential for physical and mental health. Many of the speakers mentioned the Arb as an important, easily accessible place to be surrounded by nature, located within the heart of Ann Arbor. It offers opportunities to watch birds and other wildlife, observe the changes of seasons, to be surrounded by nature sounds and silences, to touch the earth and the Huron River, and to have a place for our own quiet thoughts. 

We ask for your help to continue our outreach to current members of the Ann Arbor community and to those whose memories include experiences in the Arb to help protect it. Installation of a monorail would fragment and disturb the natural qualities that we love. Dr. Grese's letter, which is linked in our petition provides excellent background and forward-thinking ideas about the importance of protecting the intact features of the Arb. It is our gift to the future. 

Please share the change.org/SavetheArb petition with five friends and ask them to do the same. We know that there are many supporters who agree that the Arb should be retained intact, and that transportation can and should be routed outside the Arb.
