Save the Birthplace of Middlesboro: Preserve the American Association Ltd. Building

We, the undersigned, urge the Middlesboro City Council and Mayor Boone Bowling to allocate funds to repair and preserve the historic American Association Ltd. Building, which the city owns.

This landmark once housed the offices of Alexander A. Arthur’s land company, the corporation instrumental in founding and shaping the city of Middlesboro. Today, the building stands as a rare and irreplaceable connection to our beginnings, but it is in urgent need of preservation.

By investing in its repair, the City of Middlesboro will protect a cornerstone of our heritage, honor the vision of our founders, and ensure that future generations can take pride in the story of how our community was built.

We respectfully call on our city leaders to take immediate action to preserve this piece of Middlesboro’s history.
