The Amazon Glow is a combination video calling device and game console designed to help children interact with distant relatives via a variety of books, games, and other activities. The setup is a little odd, and I was skeptical at first, but using the Glow to play with his grandparents overseas quickly became one of the highlights of my son's week. On Glow days he eagerly watches the clock, waiting for his grandparents to get ready. As an active 5 year old, a normal video call can only hold his attention for a few minutes, but he'll happily play games and listen to stories on the Glow for hours on end.  It had really helped deepen the relationship between him and his grandparents and has proven very educational as well.  He has even become quite the skilled checkers player. 

Unfortunately, Amazon has decided to not just discontinue, but completely shut down the Glow after less than a year on the market. My own experiences, and those of others show just how much potential the Glow has.  It only needs some more time and proper advertising to really come into its own.

Sign this petition to show Amazon that the Glow deserves another chance.  Both for my family and the many others it will benefit.
