As youth, high school youth, we have little to no control over our lives or decisions made impacting us: Not even our transportation to school.

Bus 777 is the Evergreen-Henry Wise Wood Bus Route used by Evergreen residents every day. Yet, the city is taking this privilege away from us. They are taking our bus away. 

Most of us use the bus because we do not have any other option. Parents are at work, the busses around Evergreen are not suitable for the job, or simply because the bus saves gas. But, we never take it for advantage. After talking to a multitude of bus drivers: They all have said that this bus was the most cleanest, peaceful bus they drive. In fact, when drivers are assigned routes, many hope for the position to drive this bus. 

The city has had this bus for years now. It served our older brothers and sisters now in university, let us and our future Evergreen Wise Wood Warriors have that same privilege too. 

Here is the problem with the alternative the city gave us.

Make a crowded bus (the 766 to Dr. E. P. Scarlett High School) even more crowded. 

Inconvenience the Dr. E. P. Scarlett students by having the bus wait at the train station for all of us to get off. 

And make us take an already crowded Bus 3 up to our school.

For many kids, this is not a plausible solution. Especially since our bus is already so crowded. 

This is not a problem with a simple bus (even though it is), but it is the problem of us not having a say in it at all. We were never consulted, we were never asked. Yet, this is the reality for many youth since we are so "immature" and "inexperienced". Signing this petition isn't just for the 777, it's for the collective youth of Calgary. 

We want a say too. Save the 777. Save our voices.
