Save Sydney Startup Hub from Closure

Save Sydney Startup Hub from Closure
The issue
I regularly attend events at Fishburners and work in the free coworking space in the Sydney Startup Hub. It would be a huge shame to lose such an important part of the Startup ecosystem in Sydney. The hub serves as a critical nucleus for innovation, providing entrepreneurs with resources, networking opportunities, and a collaborative environment to grow and thrive.
"While the government has yet to publicly announce a new location, Startup Daily understands that tenants of the 11-floor site in Wynyard are being asked to move 2km south, with little detail around who bears the costs or support, to the Sydney Scaleup Hub, near Central Station, run by Stone & Chalk, on behalf of the government.
They final day at Wynyard is August 31, not the October deadline previously announced by the government.
Startup Daily sent a series of detailed questions about the move to the office of innovation, science and trade minister Anoulack Chanthivong , but they went unanswered."

However, this vibrant center for startups is now in jeopardy, with its closure announced for August 31st, 2025, followed by an uncertain future as plans to move to Tech Central remain vague. This uncertainty threatens not only current users like myself but also Sydney's burgeoning startup community, which relies heavily on the services and support offered by the hub.
Efforts to gain clarity from the office of Innovation, Science and Trade Minister Anoulack Chanthivong have been met with silence, even as Startup Daily sought detailed information about the move. This lack of communication only heightens the anxiety surrounding this move.
Sydney's innovation economy could face significant setbacks if this hub is lost or fails to retain its original purpose and accessibility. It's paramount that authorities ensure the relocation to Tech Central gets handled transparently and that all stakeholders in the startup community are informed of future plans.
I urge you to sign this petition to demand transparency and prompt actions from the responsible authorities to safeguard Sydney's indispensable Startup Hub and to ensure a smooth transition that continues to support our thriving entrepreneurs. Let's not see creativity and innovation stifled due to administrative oversights. Please sign to make sure Sydney's startups continue to have a home.
