Hello scholars of lcps and beyond. We are always told to protect our privacy and to not let anyone peep in on what you are doing! But there is a software that does not let you have any privacy, this software is known as lightspeed. Lightspeed is an extension on chrome, known as a helpful tool for teachers to check what students are doing, But in my research I found that lightspeed can track the ip address of your computer. Not only that but any teachers can use lightspeed any time anywhere to check in.

Now now, I understand that lightspeed can be a useful tool for teachers and other staff, but we are pushing for change like them not being able to use it after school hours. Most of you will probably disagree with lightspeed not working after school hours, but lightspeed goes against the privacy law, which states that “What [one] seeks to preserve as private, even in an area accessible to the public, may be constitutionally protected.” This states that what you want private must be private through your permission.

Like said earlier, this is a tool to help teachers, but kept at the wrong hands and be extremely dangerous to children and much more...
