In just over a week, over 2,500 people have signed our petition to protect maternity services at St Helier Hospital!

I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has signed, shared and supported this campaign. What started as one concerned local resident speaking up has grown into a community of thousands demanding answers about the future of our maternity services.

And I'm pleased to share that we're starting to make progress.

🏥 An update on our campaign:

Following correspondence with the NHS Trust and our local MPs:

The NHS Board meeting is confirmed for Friday 6th November at St Helier Hospital, where the future of maternity services is expected to be considered.

I've received a response from the NHS governance team, confirming that a full response to our questions will be provided before the meeting.

Dame Siobhain McDonagh MP has invited me to meet with her this Saturday to discuss the situation and how we can work together.
Bobby Dean MP's office has also offered to arrange a meeting, providing another opportunity to raise our community's concerns directly.

Bobby Dean and Luke Taylor have publicly called for an urgent meeting with the Health Minister to discuss protecting services at St Helier.

These are encouraging developments, but there is still much we need to understand.

Our priorities remain unchanged:

💗 Protecting safe, accessible, high-quality maternity services.

💗 Ensuring all viable options for retaining services at St Helier are fully explored.

💗 Understanding the evidence behind the proposed relocation and necessary building repairs.

💗 Making sure maternity staff, families and local residents are properly heard.

💗 Securing transparency and accountability before decisions are made.

This campaign remains completely independent and community-led. I'm committed to working constructively with all local representatives, regardless of political affiliation, to ensure the voices behind this petition are represented.

I will share further updates following my meetings and as more information becomes available.

Our next milestone: 3,000 signatures!

Please keep sharing this petition with friends, family, colleagues and local community groups.

Every signature helps demonstrate how much these services matter to our community.

Thank you for standing with us. 💗

Our community. Our maternity services. Our voices.
