SAVE Spartanburg BMX Race Track

SAVE Spartanburg BMX Race Track
The Issue
My children, along with many others from Boiling Springs, SC and beyond, have cherished the experiences they’ve had at our town's BMX track known as Spartanburg BMX located at North Spartanburg Park. This track is more than just a location; it’s a hub of camaraderie, healthful physical activity, and joyful memories for children and families not only from our community but from all over South Carolina, North Carolina, and all states in our region.
The Spartanburg BMX track in Boiling Springs, SC is facing the threat of closure, a decision that could take away a cherished space where youth come together to race, learn, and grow. For years, this track has been a meeting point for racing enthusiasts across the SC and surrounding states, offering coaches, parents, and participants a place to connect and support each other in a healthy and competitive environment.
The proposed closure not only impacts the local kids who regularly race here but also diminishes the area's role in fostering statewide athleticism and teamwork as we are part of USA BMX. According to the CDC, consistent physical activity such as BMX racing is vital for physical and mental development in children, helping reduce the likelihood of obesity while promoting social skills and psychological well-being. As well as keeping our teens off of the streets and falling into drugs and alcohol.
We are petitioning to ensure the town recognizes the significance of this BMX track in promoting a sense of community and providing opportunities for youth engagement and physical fitness. Keeping this track open means preserving a space for learning valuable life skills.
To the local authorities, we implore you to consider the long-term benefits of keeping the Boiling Springs BMX track operational. By investing in its future, you are supporting the growth of future community leaders and potentially national athletes.
Please join us in urging the officials to keep this vital community asset open. Sign this petition to demonstrate your support for the Boiling Springs BMX track and the positive impact it continues to have on our kids and community.
Together, we can make a difference and preserve this cherished track for future generations!!!
With love,
Spartanburg BMX kids!
