Save Southwest: Stop Paul Singer & Elliott Mgmt from Destroying Jobs, Culture, and Legacy

Save Southwest: Stop Paul Singer & Elliott Mgmt from Destroying Jobs, Culture, and Legacy
The Issue
Southwest Airlines has always been different. With a focus on community, hard work, and exceptional customer service, Southwest has always fostered a culture that was created by people, for people. Now, that culture—and the very future of our airline—is under attack.
Corporate raiders from Elliott Management, led by Paul Singer, a hedge fund billionaire notorious for dismantling companies and profiting off short-term gains, are circling our airline. Their strategy? Strip away our jobs, our culture, and our legacy that we’ve all worked so hard to build for over five decades.
Why This Matters?
Southwest Airlines is not just another company—it’s a community. Employees, customers, and partners have come together to create something special over the last 50+ years. But if Elliott Management succeeds in taking over, they will tear apart this community.
We’ve seen what happens when corporate raiders like Paul Singer and Elliott get involved. At companies like Sears and Toys “R” Us, they stripped away jobs, sold off valuable assets, and left employees with nothing. Elliott’s actions at AT&T led to job cuts, higher prices, and a declining stock price. They care only about short-term profits, not about the people who have built this airline.
If Elliott gets its way at Southwest, we can expect:
• Mass layoffs and outsourcing of jobs.
• Higher prices for customers with reduced services.
• A loss of the culture that has made Southwest unique for so long.
Southwest is more than just a company—it’s a family, and our customers are part of that family. Paul Singer and Elliott Management don’t care about that. They only care about squeezing out profits before moving on, leaving the rest of us to deal with the wreckage.
What We’re Asking For?
We’re calling on Southwest Airlines’ leadership and the Board of Directors to:
1. Reject any takeover attempts by Elliott Management and other corporate raiders.
2. Protect our jobs, our culture, and our long-term future by resisting short-term profit strategies that harm employees and customers.
3. Commit to transparency with employees, customers, and the public about any outside pressure from investors and how the company plans to respond.
How You Can Help?
We need your signature to show Southwest leadership that employees, customers, and the public won’t stand by while corporate raiders attempt to dismantle our airline. Here’s how you can take action:
• Sign this petition to demand that Southwest Airlines’ leadership reject Elliott Management’s plans.
• Share the petition on social media using the hashtags #SaveSouthwest and #WeAreSouthwest and #StopElliott
