Let me start by thanking you again for your support with this campaign.
The petition has been submitted to the council within the timescale for inclusion in the result of the public consultation process.
Sadly, however, an official reply today has claimed that of the 1268 supporting signatures only 453 will be counted given that only signatures from a Hampshire postcode can be included. I can't understand why people who have a vested interest in keeping the care home open (for whatever reason) should not be considered if they are currently living out of county.
I would also point out that we are only 6 miles from the Dorset county line.
Meanwhile, I will post a copy of the official response letter on the Facebook page and Facebook group should anyone wish to follow up on this absurdity.
Thank you once again and I will inform you of the councils final decision when it has been made.
