Save Slatestone Hills from being taken over by a high-density apartment complex!
The Issue
A developer is requesting that Slatestone Hills be rezoned from Residential to Office/Institutional so that they can build a huge apartment complex. They plan to build multiple apartment buildings at the back of Slatestone Hills - a small neighborhood of single-family homes. We are opposed to the rezoning because:
1) Owners of existing lots would no longer be allowed to build single-family homes on those lots.
2) As Office/Institutional, ANYTHING could be built there - not just housing. This could open our neighborhood to things like sweepstakes, pawn shops, night clubs, and more.
3) The existing infrastructure in the neighborhood is small and old and likely won't be able to accommodate the addition of such a large apartment.
4) Current residents are concerned about increased traffic. Traffic is already a problem due to the high school.
5) Current residents are also concerned about increased foot traffic, higher crime, and lower property values.
If you wouldn't like such an apartment complex in YOUR backyard, please sign & SHARE our petition to stop the rezoning.
Thank you!
