Mishi JainIndia

Dec 29, 2022
Fasting has been continued from 26-12-22 for following demands.
- Sammed Shikhar should be declared a holy pilgrimage site. Eco-tourism should not be allowed here.
- Everyone is welcomed regardless of their religion to the holy hill, given that sancity and sacredness should not be compromised , and the people who reach there should strictly follow the rules and regulations set by the Jain community just as they follow the rules of other pilgrimage places.
- For this, check posts should be made at the hill, and CCTV cameras should be installed.
- Shikhar Ji is a part of Wild Life Sanctuary, it is an eco-sensitive zone, so work should be done here to save the environment not destroy it.
- Trees are being cut illegally here, due to which landslides are happening, and there is a possibility of accidents.
- The government should immediately stop all this illegal mining.
- All the assurances should be given to the Jain community via official written statement .
- And the central government should amend its gazette and issue its statement or press release.
Mr. Sanjay Jain, Head of the movement organising foundation(VJS) said that, until these demands of the Jain society are fulfilled and the central government does not amend the gazette, the movement will continue. And fasting is their last safe net.
