UPDATE:
This weekend we will be at Rotary Park to sign the physical petition to deliver to Council. We need pen on paper to make this STOP!
FB Page Group - SAVE SCENIC DRIVE PARK join for more details.

Expansion of current hub into a large-scale sports complex
93 car bays (triple current parking)
Two new sporting buildings
Basketball courts
Loss of soccer field and adjoining open parkland

Why It’s a Problem

Traffic & Safety
Daily traffic increases on weekdays and weekends and into the night
Increased road danger for local families and children

Environmental Damage
Threat to the turtle habitat and bird sanctuary along Lake Joondalup
Noise, lights, and human activity disrupting wildlife breeding and feeding patterns
Reduction of green space and tree cover

Cost Blowouts
Initial $35M estimate likely to rise
Ongoing maintenance and operational costs not factored in

Better Alternatives Exist
Warwick and Kingsway already have large sporting complexes away from sensitive lake areas
Existing community hub could be upgraded without large-scale construction

Our Position
Protect the natural lakeside environment
Keep Lake Joondalup a place for families, nature, and wildlife—not a high-traffic sports precinct
Demand genuine community consultation before major changes
