Save Route #4 Update

Dear Save Route #4 supporters! Thank you for signing the petition asking Metro to continue Route #4 service to Judkins Park. We have collected almost 700 signatures between the online and hard copy petitions! It is clear from the online comments, and from what we have heard out in the community, that the affects will be felt far and wide if Route #4 service is suspended. We are asking Metro to reroute the #4 onto MLK, just as it is proposing for the Route #48 during the 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvement Project. Our community needs safe and reliable bus service! Below are important updates about the efforts to save service to our community. -- We testified on the issue at the City Council Transportation Committee meeting on 4/14 before councilmembers and SDOT staff and presented the petition with signatures to date. -- This coming Tues., 4/21 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courthouse, 516 3rd Avenue, we will testify at the County Council Transportation, Environment and Economy meeting. If anyone can make it to this meeting to show your support, we would greatly appreciate it. -- A big thank you to the Transit Riders Union, especially Katie Wilson! This organization has been instrumental in helping us to connect with elected and public officials. -- We continue to reach out to the social service agencies that will be feeling the biggest impact of this service cut. Thank you to the Center Park Residents Council Board for hosting us last Wednesday and this coming Wednesday at the full Residents Council meeting.
