Update on Save Route #4

Thank you to everyone who has signed the petition asking Metro to preserve Route #4 bus service to Judkins Park. Within a week about 300 individuals have signed the petition either in person or online at http://bitly.com/1a353t4. The petition will be presented to city and county elected and public officials sometime in early- to mid-April. If you would like to help by canvassing your block with a petition, please contact Leslie at noahles@q.com. To recap, Metro is planning to terminate the Route #4 at 21st and James for an 8-month period during Phase 1 of the 23rd Avenue Corridor Improvement Project. We are asking Metro to reroute the #4 on to MLK, just as is proposed for the 48, as a non-trolley bus so our community can continue to receive reliable and efficient bus service. For information on bus service impacts due to construction and for other construction information, visit the project site at http://sdot23rdave.publicmeeting.info/de... Preliminary utility work will begin as soon as April 1 and require short-term single lane closures. Major road construction is slated to begin in mid-May. Please forward the petition link to others who may be affected by this change http://bitly.com/1a353t4 Thank you for your support.
