Roanhead is situated on the Furness peninsular in south Cumbria. As well as being a rare beauty spot, it is one of the UK's few successful breeding locations for the protected Natterjack Toad, as well as being home to many critically endangered animal, plant and fungi species. Plans have been proposed to build hundreds of lodges, restaurants, leisure facilities and a petring zoo at this site in order to transform it into a holiday resort. This will have devastating consequences for the local wildlife and needs to be prevented.
