Attention all users of Richmond Park.  The Metropolitan Police are planning to disband the dedicated Richmond Park Police Team in order to save costs.

Please join me in urging them to not do this.  The Park Police are essential to the safety of all users of the park, especially with regard to protection from deer attacks and potential criminal activity (personal attacks, car thefts, dog napping etc).  I was personally rescued by the Park Police when I was attacked by a red deer who would not allow me to move from the area where she had corralled me.  Without them being on the spot and able to quickly identify where I was from my description to them over the phone I am not sure what I would have done!

It is important to act now as the cut is scheduled to happen in the very near future.   The benefits of this dedicated team far outweigh the marginal cost savings that would be made.
