We have over to 2,250 signatures on our petition to replace the Mordialloc creek underpass next to Pompei’s Landing. The signatures grew from 1,800 in just the last few weeks alone after Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) officially announced 18 August as the date of permanent closure. It’s clear this really matters to you, look at how quickly those signatures have grown, you’re not alone—many people in our community feel strongly about this.

Unfortunately despite best efforts not all Councillors were able to support the motion to replace the underpass (will try to upload a photo otherwise names are below). They might have missed how important this is for you.

FOR: Cr Law, Cr O'Donnell, Cr Hill, Cr Saab, Cr Ashworth-Collett

AGAINST: Cr White, Cr Howe

ABSTAIN: Cr Agirtan, Cr Erevnidis, Cr Oxley

ABSENT: Cr Athanasopolous

Lost on casting vote of the Mayor Oxley.

Say your firstname (lastname optional) and suburb you live in (or if you run a local club or business near Mordialloc creek underpass) and ask in a few words to reconsider the matter to support the replacement of the Mordialloc creek underpass and why this is important to you.

-use respectful language

-keep it positive and

-share why this shared user path is important

If you live on the beach side wouldn’t you want to walk or ride to the new pools? Wouldn’t this be safer for our school kids without walking along a busy highway or narrow suburban footpath or driving through the busy Main Street (we all know how busy it has gotten and no-one loves sitting in traffic).
