The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service was supposed to protect the last few reindeer we have left in the United States.

The reindeer is an incredibly vulnerable species - by many counts there are only a few left. But we can help save them and bring them back from the brink of extinction.

There are four reindeer currently being held in a pen meant to save them from extinction. Soon, though, they will be released into the wild.

Many are giving up on the species...including the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

The agency was supposed to protect the reindeer habitat in northern Idaho and northeastern Washington. Instead, they have cut down the conservation efforts and the habitat they are meant to protect for the species down by 345,000 acres to just 30,000 acres of land.

Courts have tried to urge the agency to reconsider their decision. Protecting the land that they used to live on could give them their only chance of survival. Without it, they will almost certainly be fully extinct.

Don’t give up on reindeer. Urge the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to stick to their original plan and give reindeer the land they need.
