The Issue

As a citizen in the city limits of Trenton, FL, I've always believed that my tax dollars should prioritize the safety and well-being of our community. However, I'm increasingly concerned that our commission voted to get rid of the security and safety we rightfully deserve.

Instead our taxes will fund a one time 20 year paving loan. Likely increasing our tax load through that time. The county deputies, while commendable, cannot be expected to shoulder all the responsibility of maintaining our city’s safety. Our city taxes should support public safety officers dedicated solely to Trenton.

Public safety officers play a crucial role in our community, responding to emergencies, ensuring law enforcement and fire services, providing a sense of security to all residents. Without public safety department officers, response times to emergencies increase, and our community becomes vulnerable to potential threats and crimes. In a city, where every second can save a life or prevent a tragedy, we cannot afford these delays. Not to mention, the growth the city and county will see in 20 years.

The safety of our families, our neighbors, and our community lies in our hands. By coming together to support this cause, we can make a real difference. I urge you to join me in calling on the city government of Trenton, FL to prioritize the safety of its citizens by amending their decision to do away with our public safety officers.

Please sign this petition to demand the necessary support for dedicated public safety officers in Trenton. Let's ensure our community remains secure and thriving.
