Share your voice with the county! Comments for the Housing Element are now open

Hi All,

The petition has now been signed by over 400 people, most of whom are long-time West Marin locals. We've gotten the attention of many key participants in this process and I believe we are making progress. I've been attending all County Board of Supervisor and Point Reyes Village Association meetings to make sure our voices are heard. 

I'm writing because there is an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting this Tuesday, and there is an opportunity to send feedback to the supervisors ahead of this important session. I'm pasting in an email from the county below that has instructions on how to share feedback. If you would like to share feedback ahead of the meeting, the deadline is tomorrow at 3:30pm, and the deadline for overall comments is June 30th. 

An email simply stating your concerns and linking to this petition will go a long way. I've requested another meeting with Supervisor Rodoni and am already working with the Village Association on an alternate housing proposal.

We are getting close the finish line and now is the time reach out to the county. If we keep up the pressure I'm confident we will end up with a solution that is far better for all involved.

On Tuesday June 14, 2022, at 5:00 PM or thereafter,  the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission will hold a workshop to receive public comment and provide feedback on the draft Housing and Safety Elements (Draft Housing Element Board Packet, Draft Safety Element Board Packet).

Submit any comments to the Board and Commission by email to housingelement@marincounty.org or BOS@marincounty.org by Monday June 13, 2022 at 3:30 PM. Include the agenda item number you are addressing, your name, and address. These comments will be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors and will be placed into the public record. Attachments to emails are permitted. You may also comment during the meeting. Please visit the Board of Supervisors webpage for information on how to attend virtually.

Comments will be accepted for both the Housing and Safety Element through June 30, 2022 at midnight.
