Save Pitikwé - WPG's Only Indoor Skatepark!
The Issue
Pitikwé opened its doors on October 27’Th, 2023.
The park was created by the community for the community in response to a lack of inclusiveness at the previous long term park. We needed a park that was for everyone, every class, every walk of life.
Our park was amazing.

A year later Pitikwé has become Edge 2.0.
The board has been replaced, all the original founders have long been pushed out and all that remains is a Treasurer who has full control of the current board and it's voting outcomes, replaced the staff with people tied to her, and her store and now turned our non-profit Skatepark into a for profit store front.

The one person with an actual fiduciary duty to the park has exploited it and the community that built it to promote her own interests with no regard to the people they hurt in the process.
The Pitikwé board has openly engaged in harassment, questionable spending, labour abuses and poor care of the park.
Despite the board there still remains volunteers and staff that care deeply about the park and itr’s vision.
We the undersigned members of the skateboarding community in Winnipeg and beyond are calling for the immediate resignation of the board.
We are ready to assume control and bring back the park to the community. Our caretaker board will work with a transition committee to choose a new board and institute proper bylaws and a membership structure. Annual meetings will be held where members will be able to view the financial health of the park, vote on major issues and ongoing board roles.
