We are very sad to report that after years of campaigning for the protection of the Forest Bridge, Forestry Corporation of NSW, against community has started clear-felling beautiful habitat in Pine Creek state Forest.
Just last week logging machinery was able to enter Pine Creek for the first time in over 2 years after a protest camp was shut down by police, NPWS and Forestry officials. The camp had been restarted by community members, with approval from Gumbayynggirr elders, to stop the latest threat to Pine Creek, as logging compartments that include parts of the Forest Bridge became "active". Community members also engaged in Non-Violent Direct Action in attempts to block access to the forest.

Thanks to the Knitting Nannas for this simple explanation fo why the Forest Bridge is so important.
While we grieve the loss of habitat that has begun, we continue to lobby for the protection of the Forest Bridge and every tree that remains standing within it.
