The Council's next Long Term Plan (LTP) Committee meeting is next Tuesday 20th in the Council Chambers, starting at 9am. We are making a short presentation in the public comment section at the start of the meeting. It will be interesting! Please come along in support if you can. Ideally get there at least 10 minutes in advance. The door at the eastern end of the building, next to the events centre, should be open. Take the lift or go up the stairs to the 2nd floor. If that door is not open, go to the other end of the building, where you will need to sign in and staff will direct you to the lifts. We will have Save Petone Wharf posters for you to hold up if you would like to.
The purpose of that meeting is for the Committee to decide on the options that are going to be included for public consultation on the LTP. At the moment, the only options proposed to be included are to demolish the wharf, with or without additional money being spent on "memorialising" the wharf.
Also, please drop in on us at the Petone Rotary Fair, 10am to 4pm, Saturday 17th February (this Saturday) Jackson Street, Petone. We will be opposite the Drake premises, near the Elizabeth Street corner. We would love to talk to you about the wharf, and bring along any friends or whanau who haven't yet signed the petition!
