Thank you for supporting our petition: Save Penrose School! We’ve gathered over 500 supporters in just days.

Public schools are a vital piece of our community fabric, especially in country villages. Penrose Public School has been providing a public education since 1891, and in recent times distinguishes itself with a tailored education for pupils who may struggle in larger schools.

It’s important we convey the bigger picture and hold a strategic lens for busy Departmental staff, Ministers, MPs and local Councillors. Penrose is expected to grow sustainably in coming years, with more shops and homes in the village centre, creating viable school enrolments and sustaining local services and amenities. Closing the school would be a short-sighted strategic mistake.

For those that can make it, the NSW Department of Education will hold a Community Meeting at the school from 3pm on Wednesday 24 September 2025.
