Save Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus

Save Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus
The Issue
Hello everyone,
My name is Brandon Pitts, and I’m reaching out as a proud Penn State Fayette student heading into my third year of nursing next semester. I need your help to keep our campus open as we face the possibility of closure. I started my nursing journey at a different school and was really struggling—until I discovered Penn State Fayette. Here, I not only found the education and support I needed, but also a true home. I’ve grown so much, thanks to the amazing people at this institution—from my instructors to staff members who became like family. I have progressed so much that I even became the Vice President of Penn State Fayette’s Nursing Club (SNAPS), and I can honestly say that our campus isn’t just a place to learn; it’s a family where every staff member and student matters.
Fayette County faces significant challenges in education and economic opportunity, and Penn State Fayette is a lifeline for us all. It’s the only campus in our area offering a 4-year BSN program—critical for training the nurses our local hospitals desperately need. Losing this campus would mean:
• Fewer local job opportunities and a weakened community economy.
• The loss of our only accessible pathway to a four-year nursing degree, worsening local healthcare shortages.
• Forcing students and families to travel far or relocate, which would add financial strain and limit opportunities for many.
I’ve started a petition urging Penn State leadership and the Board of Trustees to keep Penn State Fayette open. Your signature is crucial, as it shows that our community stands together to protect this vital institution—where students, staff, and community aren’t just numbers, but people. We won’t let our future be decided without our input.
Please take a moment to sign the petition and share it with friends, family, and neighbors. Let’s show Penn State that Fayette County’s voice matters and that our campus is not just a number, but a family that has helped so many of us thrive.
Thank you for your support!
