The Department of Planning has made public the EIS (Environmental Impact Statement) for the proposed Western Sydney Airport by Venues NSW. We have been reading through the documentation and found that community consultation process was not followed as per DoPE guidelines, and that this 42.5 metre (12 story high) stadium could have serious impacts on the Old Government House World Heritage Listing (which is linked to 10 other convict site in Australia). Plus Parramatta Park Trust are not acting as per the PPT Act in protecting crown land for public recreation and not commercial enterprise. We are working with National Trust Of Australia on requesting an extension to the submission period for objections and hope to receive a response by the end of this week. In the meantime we are putting together a simple guide of the points you must object to for the government to listen to the objection.
