I emailed our decision makers two days after this petition was created and had 100 signatures. The reply I got was expected and lackluster.

Ken Neilson from the parks department replied: 

"The process for updating Park Discovery is almost a year old. It has gone through at least 3 City based committees. The City Council has had numerous discussions about the park condition and it has been on the agenda several times in the past year and they've approved the renovation.

Our insurance company has flagged the structures unsafe and we have been instructed to remedy the issues." 

To me this seemed like a copy and pasted response that missed the heart of this petition. When I responded immediately to him, I received no response.

I have followed up with him today and encourage you all to do the same. Send an email, it does not have to be long or fancy, to let them know what you want from them as a parks department.

I appreciate your support in this, we are not alone. Park Discovery was something special, and I'm so glad so many people saw that.
