Our Leafy Lane woodland neighbours in our Woodland Habitat (Deciduous Woodland Priority Habitat as known under Defra), have been extremely vocal and noticeable this past week; I wonder if they are in protest to the idea of their home being destroyed!

This week we have had reports from residents which have spotted and heard Sparrow Hawks, Tawny Owls and Foxes along with Bats too!

As you know our petition was set up to help protect our wildlife and our trees; it is growing at a fast rate and I would like to submit it to the Amber Valley Borough Council planning department next week...

So...  I need your help once again!

We need more Amber Valley signatures, so I asking if you could help out please by copying and pasting our petition link to your Facebook / social media page and ask your friends and family to sign and share. It would be really appreciated by all the residents and our wildlife too!

If you would like to see and hear some of our amazing wildlife living in the Leafy Lane Woodland please take a look at some of the posts on one of the local community pages:

I also understand some people have been wondering how to get in contact with me, any very important info can be sent to leafylanewoods@gmail.com

That’s all from me! I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

P.s If you are out for a bank holiday stroll please have a walk through Leafy Lane, there is an entrance on Hands Road next to 68 Hands Road, watch your step as there are nettles at the entrance! I have been in contact with one of the Councillors and hopefully it will be tidied soon. You can also enter Leafy Lane via the Memorial Park near the Pond. Don’t forget your camera and to look up as you might spot a Sparrow Hawk or even a few bats!

Have a good one!
