The Issue
We, the people, call upon our elected officials to prioritize the protection of reproductive rights by introducing and passing legislation that ensures every individual’s right to make decisions about their own body.
While it can be argued that these are not violating on a constitutional level, bans and laws that force individuals to carry pregnancies against their will are cruel, inhumane, and violate fundamental principles of personal autonomy, privacy, and dignity. Such laws disproportionately harm marginalized communities, exacerbate inequalities, and strip people of the freedom to make decisions in alignment with their values, health, and circumstances.
This proposed bill, the would:
1. Guarantee Abortion Access Nationwide: Establish the right to safe and legal abortion care as a federal standard, free from unnecessary restrictions.
2. Prohibit Forced Pregnancies: Recognize that compelling someone to carry a pregnancy against their will is a violation of their basic human rights and dignity.
3. Support Comprehensive Reproductive Healthcare: Fund and expand access to affordable contraception, pregnancy care, and post-abortion services, ensuring equitable healthcare for all.
4. Protect Healthcare Providers: Shield medical professionals from legal retaliation for providing abortion care in accordance with established medical guidelines.
The government should respect and protect an individual’s right to make deeply personal decisions about their body without interference. Forced pregnancy is not only unjust but also cruel—it undermines physical and mental health, perpetuates cycles of poverty, and strips away the freedom to live life with dignity. Many conservative republicans who wish such strict laws have little to no regard to the mothers mental & physical well being.
We urge Congress to take accountability that there is more to abortion than just the “life” that is taken and ensure that reproductive rights are protected as fundamental human rights. Together, we can affirm that no one should be denied the ability to control their own future.
