I don’t matter.
You don’t matter.
Our kids don’t matter.

At least, that’s the message we’re being sent—loud and clear. One person, with power and money, can bulldoze through laws, wetlands, and communities… and always get what they want.

Our emails were ignored.
Our voices were silenced.
Our safety was overlooked.
Because we don’t matter.

But let me tell you something—we do matter!
Our families matter.
Our children’s future matters.
Our homes and our environment matter.

Those in high positions may feel untouchable. They sit protected at the top of the pyramid, far away from the flooding, the mold, and the daily risks we face with more wildlife encounters. To them, we are just like the animals—what we want and need doesn’t matter.
For them, it’s another deal. Another step toward profit.
And we are the ones who pay the price.

But I’m still here.
Still standing.
Still fighting.

Because I refuse to accept that our safety is negotiable. I refuse to let them erase us with silence. And I believe that together, we can still make a difference.
