I have found another solution- Brighton council currently spends over twice what other councils do on their book fund. They spend far far more than any other council per 1,000 residents. Perhaps this could be reined in instead? Brighton Council could still afford to spend more than anyone else on books if that’s what they prefer – Even a generous budget 1.5x other councils would make over £125,000 savings a year. No libraries would need to close, no hours reduced at Jubilee and Hove libraries. Please help me to raise awareness of this option.
