Save our Tony! ✋

The Issue

Let’s keep Tony in the job he loves ❤️

Tony was told on Thursday (last day of term) that his job would be cut and to expect a letter from EDC outlining plans to move him to an alternative position.
Tony loves Torrance so much and has said he would rather take early retirement than go to another village.  We need to force our council to keep their hands off our lollipop man. Get signing, sharing, emailing councillors and commenting. This cannot happen!
hands off our Tony!!

I have tagged you all in the post as Torrance is up in arms and quite rightly so!  We have had the pleasure of having Tony Brady as our school crossing/lollipop man for most of the last year of school term at an incredibly dangerous crossing between Main Street and Campsie Road.
He was told-after dressing up as the Easter bunny on the last day of term and giving out over 40 bags of treats for his regular kids he helps cross the street (out of his own pocket and generosity) that his job was being cut and edc would find him an alternative position!
Not only do we need a person at this junction to maintain the safety of our kids, but Tony is the only man for the job!
He’s been through hell personally, but he goes the extra mile every morning to ensure all of our kids are kept safe and puts a huge smile on their faces and he has become a vital pillar in our community.
I’ve watched him deal with aggressive drivers who have ignorantly ignored him having right of way when trying to cross the children and stand up to them by refusing to get out of their way and educate people as well as ensuring the kids safety above his own. He deserves this position which he himself says, has been his reason for getting out of bed this last year due to his grief.
I fear for the kids safety at the junction without him-I have three children with additional and complex needs who regularly walk to school and without his presence, the safety net for thinking about my children doing this independently in future is gone as Tony is brilliant with them all!
I’m sure you will be met with a raft of emails about this issue, but we need our lolllipop man reinstated!
Please help support our Tony!
