Dear Supporters, sadly, the NSW Heritage Council of NSW have given their approval for a Linear Ramp to be built which will destroy Sydney Harbour Bridge heritage and Bradfield parkland despite a massive community campaign by over 7,000 petitioners who support the alternative Community Cycle Ramp that does no heritage harm. It is baffling as they’ve specified a photographic record is made of what we now have, so must realise there will be destruction of worthwhile heritage features.

As reported in the Sydney Morning Herald on June 22/2023, the heritage council’s approval of the linear-style ramp was called “a disaster”. The brief statement by the Heritage Council did not comment on the number or quality of objections they received from the community or their reasons for approving their decision.

Our community action group are reviewing available options to pursue next. Of course, a meeting with the Transport Minister would be welcome – but our approaches go unanswered. So far.
