Brookes University will be leaving the Harcourt Campus in 2025. They run the leisure facilities - swimming pool, gym and playing fields.

In May they suddenly announced that the swimming pool will close in September this year, unless £40-80k of external funding can be found to keep it open for another year. This finance needs to be found by end of July. The swimming pool is an important amenity for Botley and children from 12 primary schools learn to swim here.

Our community is at great risk of losing these facilities completely if we don't act now.

We call on Oxford Brookes University and the Vale of White Horse District Council to:

·       Reconsider the planned closure of the Harcourt Hill pool

·       Develop a short-term plan for continued use, and

·       Work with the community and the site owners on a long-term solution.
