Dear supporter,
Thank you for the support you have already given to the national petition to link care and support worker pay to NHS banding. The Fabian Society think tank – which heavily influences Labour policy - has reflected this in its vision for the future of social care and a prominent Conservative has come out in favour too. We are generating momentum. Now, ahead of the party conferences in September, is the time to press it home.
The petition has been featured in the Mirror (twice,) the Guardian, the Star and widely across regional and trade media. We’ll continue to push for coverage.
We are on over 69,000 signatures! We think every care and support worker should know about this petition and have the chance to sign it if they wish. With the right support we think we can get to well over 100,000. Here’s what we’ll then do:
- deliver the petition to Number 10 after summer recess and before the party conferences
- seek a debate in the House of Commons
- ensure the petition is prominent at Conference fringe events
You can help! Please share this widely across your social media again. Please encourage your staff to sign. And if you’d like closer involvement in some way, or think you have a route to higher profile coverage, simply drop me a line.
Let’s have the sector speaking as one on this vital issue.
Thank you
