NEWLANDS WIND FARM PROPOSAL - UPDATE   In November 2023 Belltown Power submitted an application to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU) for a wind farm development on Newlands Hill.  In September 2024 East Lothian Council responded to the ECU objecting to the development.

Belltown Power has now submitted to the ECU Additional Information to address the concerns of consultees, in particular those of East Lothian Council.   The proposed development has been modified, reducing the number, height and position of the turbines within the site boundary, which remains unchanged.  The access route for abnormal loads during the construction period remains unchanged.

If you wish to make representations either for or against the revised proposals please do so on the ECU website. The consultation period for this Additional Information runs until 10th August.  It may be possible to make submissions after this date, as CC has previously been advised that Scottish Ministers will consider submissions made right up until a decision is made.
