Hi Everyone,
Thanks for signing and supporting The Soul of America, LLC's Petition to Save the S.S. United States!! Kindly accept this update. As of today, under a six page letter from the SOA dated March 5, 2025, the online Petition link has been delivered to 14 Decision-makers. The letter will be published on social media.
They are: President Donald Trump; Elon Musk, DOGE Administrator; House Rep.Marjorie Taylor Greene, Chair, House DOGE Subcommittee; Peter Hegseth, Secretary of Defense; U.S. Rep. Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House; U.S. Senator John Kennedy; U.S. Senator Robert Jones Portman (former); U.S. SenatorJohn Fetterman; U.S. Senator David McCormick; Pennsylvania State Senator, Douglas Mastriano; James Kaplan, Esquire, and Dan McSweeney, Founders of the New York Coalition to Save the SS United States, Inc.; John Quadrozzi, Jr., Preservation Partner,the New York Coalition; and the Coalition's attorney,James M. Maloney, Esquire, also received a copy.
For these reasons, it is important for all of us to continue rallying support. Please ask your friends, family, and colleagues to join and sign in the Petition. The easiest way is through social media and text, but the direct approach always work best. Simply share the link or the QR Scan Code.
If more of us sign, we cannot be ignored. Our numbers do count. Our Petition now has 259 signatures. If each of us can get 10 people sign, our numbers will jump to 2,590, and they could just as easily become 25,900, and 259,000, and to many more.
But more importantly, our Petition joins in with at least three other organizations. MoSt of the have an online Petition. The Groups are: The New York Coalition noted above (5,329 signatures); the Facebook group, The Alliance to preserve the SS United States; and The SS United States Preservation Foundation (2,236 signatures). A fourth petition organizer on Ipetitions also has 71 signatures.
All these signatures are indeed significant. Representatives of some of these Groups agree we should join together in the essence our worthy cause.
Indeed, from these Groups action is being taken and every signature counts. As noted above, Decision-makers received notice of our concerns to save the ship for the different reasons stated in each Petition. But---as we all know---President Trump and his administration are extremely busy correcting the actions of former President Joe Biden. Also, the New York Coalition's attorney, Mr. Maloney, recently filed a Complaint in the United States District Court of Northern Florida. The matter is captioned as:New York Coalition to Save the STEAM SHIP UNITED STATES, Inc. v. Okaloosa County, Florida, No.: 3:25-cv-00212-MCR-HTC (N.D. Fla.).
As to the official Petition Process, the right “to petition the Government for a redress of grievances” is guaranteed to us by the First Amendment and Fourteenth Amendment of our beloved United States Constitution. To sign a petition, we only need to provide our names and email addresses.
The White House has an online public relations platform for Petitions. It is called:“We the People”. It allows us to express our concerns and for the President's administration to respond. Former President Obama's administration launched it on September 22, 2011. But for some unknown reason, former President Joe Biden deactivated it near instantly on his Inauguration Day, January 20, 2021.
By doing so, he interrupted President Trump's plan to revise and replace the online system with a better, more efficient platform. But also in doing so, President Biden ceased the minimum signature requirements needed to warrant a Presidential Response. It has not been relaunched since.
That means there is no minimum signature requirement to warrant a response. It is for these reasons that we are using Change.Org to Petition President Trump. In situations such as this judicial intervention is key and the New York Coalition's steps to file a Complaint in the above court action serves to intervene into the S.S. United States matter to the benefit of all our mutual desires—to “Save Our Ship”!
