Law-abiding citizens' Second Amendment rights are currently being threatened by the Biden administration. With the left pushing for more gun control, guns will be outlawed if sufficient action is not taken. To reduce crime such as school shootings, teachers should be disciplined, trained, and armed to take on a threat before the police get there. Allowing law-abiding citizens to easily access firearms helps reduce crime overall, since those citizens will know how to use them if the situation calls for it. I know not all people will purchase a firearm for self-defense, and may use them for target shooting and/or hunting. 

Concealed carry laws help reduce the number of robberies and rape that happen, as it can deter the attacker from carrying through with their action. Since the last few decades, crime rates have also dropped by half due to citizens carrying a weapon on their person. Outside of the home, people such as Kyle Rittenhouse and Eli Dicken have successfully defended themselves and others from an armed attacker. Rittenhouse was charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide, one count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, one count of first-degree reckless homicide, and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering public safety. He was later found not guilty via CCTV camera footage which showed him acting in self-dedenss. Dicken saved many lives because of his marksmanship and Indiana's new NRA-endorsed constitutional carry law.

Gun control does not work. It only affects the law-abiding American who has done nothing to harm themselves or other fellow Americans. If ever the day comes that guns are outlawed, then the easiest form of self-defense will simply vanish as protected by the Second Amendment. Deeply rooted in our country's culture, the spirit of firearms will never leave the American people.

The Second Amendment states that "the Militia," who are ordinary law-abiding civilians that are not official soldiers, are allowed to keep and bear arms for any legal and discernable reason. As soon as an individual attains a firearm, they are automatically granted the right to keep them for lawful purposes, therefore prohibiting the federal government or any federal entity from infringing on that right.

Let us go forth and protect our Second Amendment rights! Tell our President that his erroneous and authoritarian measures surrounding gun control are extreme and unjustified. His principles go against our values, and the Constitution. Strike down the ATF, strike down all "assault weapons" bans, and repeal the NFA. It is high time we take action!
