School Starts in 33 Days: Bus Cuts will Hurt Children

Thank you for signing & sharing the Save Our School Buses petition!
We are grateful that over 1,400 people came together to sign this petition even in the peak of summer. We welcome you to continue to share it.
As many of you may have already heard by now, the school board did not vote to suspend school bus cuts for the next year.
Our advocacy efforts highlighted child safety & equity concerns to the school board. In attempts to address our concerns, they made a motion and voted for the following:
1) Child safety and school measures (attendance, tardiness, school performance) will be assessed over at least the first 60 days of school as they relate to school bus loss.
2) After those 60 days, the school board with hold a public hearing for residents to express their concerns on school bus cuts.
School starts in 33 days, and we will need YOUR help recording concerns as they come up. Please plan to keep us posted by email: neighbors4buses@gmail.com and/or social media: Facebook "Neighbors Buses" or Twitter @Neighbors4Buses. We will need as many people as possible to show up and to testify at the public hearing in the fall (date TBD).
If you would like to be on an e-mail list for updates, please reach out to neighbors4buses@gmail.com.
Thank you for all your advocacy efforts! You are making a difference.
